Rotary Corner - This month I would like to recognize our Paul Harris Recipients. Ray Byrne, Stephen E. Flint, Michael A. Fugiel, Richard Gallicchio, Connie R. Gessner, Robert Harris, James Ilten, Bill Lichter, Dick Schroeder, Elaine Schweppe, Gary Smit Robert Whitacre and Gregory L. Young. Congratulations.

March Board Meeting Highlights - On March 20th, the Board made a decision of not posting the minutes of Board Meetings on the Internet. If you would like a copy, the club Secretary will have copies available at luncheons.

Welcome To Our Speakers: On February 28th, we had a speaker, but since I was still having flu-like symptoms, I thought it would be in the best interest of club if I stayed away. Normally the Sgt @ Arms would give me the lowdown on what was happening, but she was sick too! So no report. March 6th, was our BAH @ Casey's, so all the board members gave a little talk, except for Dennis, who gave his unabridged speech on his roll in club. On March 13th, our speaker was the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Chris Kachiroubas who gave an eye opening view of what is going on in the circuit court these days, in case you haven't been pulled over lately, Bob. On March 20th, Bob W. gave the Blue Ribbon panel the day off and mentioned that the next panel would discuss the subject of "Is it fair" business or otherwise.

Honored Guests: On February 28th, I wouldn't know. On March 6th, the Chamber was our honored guest. On March 13th, the tables were overflowing with guests, thanks to Dick. We had Hank from Ludington, Yvonne Invergo from the Chamber, Stacy Schroeder, Kyle Kuramitsu (Deb's son) and the Clerks Assistant Donna. On March 20th, Elaine Schweppe, Yvonne Invergo and Bob Smith from the Addison club.

Fines and Happy Fines: On February 28th, I'm sure everyone was happy. On March 6th, we were all happy to show off our membership to the world. On March 13th, Finemaster Deb was feeling perky as she nailed Gary S. for a pin fine. Her eye sight was sharp as ever as she noticed Jim B. and Connie stroll in late. Bob McB. and Ralph were caught taking phone calls. If you didn't show up for the BAH's Deb fined you, Bob H. was caught with his photo in the paper, and Greg caught the finemaster dozing , because she didn't catch his photo in the paper. So there!
Because Gary S. was running out of singles, and he was thrilled to be sitting at the same table as Rick S., yours truly was happy that Gary was happy to be sitting with Rick. Huh! Jim I. was happy to be back from Texas, as he flew Southwest Airlines. Dick was happy that Kyle was here and thought that Deb should pay a happy fine for his visit. And I was happy that Deb got Mike Ditka's autograph on a photo from his rookie year. On March 20th, our Sgt. Caught Kathy V. and Jim B. strolling in tardy and a pin fine for Kathy V. Board meeting no shows were Kathy V., Rick, Maury and Bob McB. Deb caught three educators at one table, Jim, Paul and Bob Mc B. Bob H. paid a phone fine for our Addison guest when he ratted him out when his cell rang. Picture fines were paid by Rich G. and Steve. Brian made a comment about how he called Rick, Ming the Merciless for being brutal when it came to fining people in his finemaster days. He thought that Deb should have a similar moniker, Simone (not Simon) Legree is his choice of titles and of course was immediately fined .Happy fines were made by Kathy V. who is now an empty nester, Chief Ed is a new Grandpa as 6lb. 9oz. Mary Grace was born on March 2nd. Paul O. and his wife have a new son, Brian Jack, all 8lbs. of him. Steve's son Chad was named to the All Academic Conference. And lastly, Deb thought it would be a good idea if all the new Paul Harris recipients paid a one dollar happy fine and all other members would do the same. Tom P. has a birthday and we all sang happy b'day to our new member. He should've waited a few weeks before joining.

Announcements: On February 28th, I'm sure that an announcement was made that there would be no lunch the following week, as we are hosting The Business After Hours @ Casey's. On March 13th, Gary B. gave an update on John Nolan and reported that he is doing well with his treatments and that he will be flying out soon to visit. Bob McB. announced that the Scholarship luncheon would be on May 22nd as seniors (not Gary, Brian etc) would not be in school the following week. On March 20th, Dennis asked the club to think about what other projects we might be interested in helping with. Gary B. made mention that the Birthday Club monies that we collect are helping the needy families in town. He gave a family of 8, (mom and seven kids) $150.00. Bob Mc B. made the announcement that the Scholarship lunch will be May 22nd @ Villa Nova. Ralph let us know that on the 27th, Jim Reichhart will speak about his travels to Thailand. And finally, President Steve made an announcement about the Birthday Fund and how we should (although not mandatory) at least match what you collect or match your age in dollars.

Object of Rotary - or Be Reminded: the first regular (Thursday) meeting of every month is "Food or $5" as members will have the choice of bringing a food item to help supply for the Food Pantry or pay a $5 fine of to support First Things First. When a speaker is not scheduled on the first Thursday of each month, the time will be spent in quality fellowship and member to member interaction.

Weekly Raffle, On February 28th, no one picked the winning card. March 6th, no raffle. On March 13th, Dick 's table had the winning ticket, but alas, Dick picked the 3 of clubs. On March 20th, Deanna's table had the winning ticket and Deanna picked the 6 of clubs. And the pot grows richer.
