May Board Meeting Highlights - See the secretary.

Welcome To Our Speakers: On May 28th, our speaker was Jean Angel, from the Historical Society. On June 11th, Bill Kaiser from the Food Pantry was our speaker. On June18th, Jerry Rudman and Fred Beno from the assessors office were our speakers.

Honored Guests: On May 28th, Bill Schaub from the Addison club was our guest.

Fines and Happy Fines: On May 28th, the Sgt. fined Kathy for being pinless, Rich G. and Connie for being late, two Gary's at one table, two Realtors, Kathy and Brian at the same table, Greg for taking a phone call during lunch and Bob M. for a tie fine, but the sgt. changed his mind and let it pass. The two Barristers at one table, Connie and Dennis, Bob H. and Art paid up for picture fines. Happy fines were in abundance , as yours truly announced the birth of his first granddaughter. Marge was happy to be back from Alaska, Rick was happy, that after being in club for 8+ years, Dennis had no announcement to make. Jean was happy that her mom is doing well and her son made it out of kindergarten and is on his way to 1st grade. Yvonne was happy that her son Zak is working this summer at Enchanted Castle. Dennis was happy that his brother Mack was doing well after his heart attack. And finally, we sang happy birthday to Bob C. as he passed around the basket. On June 11th, the finemaster took the day off and our favorite fill in, Rick did the honors as he caught Ed, Greg and Connie for not having their pins, Connie and Pat for being late, Bob W. for leaving the room, Scott for questioning the finemaster, Bob M. for sitting alone with a banker and a lawyer (looked like a closing) Dennis for announcing that this was a mockery. ????? Andre for being a GQ dresser (what do you expect, he's single) and Paul for having the pool open on time AND under budget. Happy fines from Paul as the pool was opened on time and under budget and 3000 patrons visited the pool during the time, when the average temps were 68 degrees. Tom P. was happy that his son graduated from the 8th grade, Rick became a grandpa to a beautiful little girl, Charlie was happy to be in club 24 years, Ralph's grandson graduated from Augustana and Dennis' youngest is engaged. The back table was fined for taking too long to figure out that they had the winning raffle ticket. And Steve was fined for forgetting the speakers name. On June 18th, finemaster Brian, hit the pin fine mother load as Kathy, Gary B., Gary S. and Paul misplaced their pins. Gary S and coonie for being late, Paul was hit for taking phone calls, two Gary's at one table (Smit - Heppe), two Bob's (Harris - Whitacre), Bob H. for a ming the merciless comment, Art for a photo op. Happy fines from Connie for paying up being late and Brian not noticing, Bob C. paid a happy fine for Brians shirt, Gary had a visit with his sister in Iowa who has Altzheimers, he was happy to at least see her. And Brian was happy to be married 50 years. We all sang happy birthday to Dennis as he passed around the basket.

Announcements: On May 28th, Bob Harris passed around a flyer for the District Governors' installation on July 1st. He said that he was attending and everyone is encouraged to attend. Also, Bob's installation is Thursday, July 9th, 6:00 to 7:00 Open Bar and Fellowship followed by Dinner and Installation 7:00 to 9:00 at the Carlisle. $46.00 per person. The sign up sheets are going around, so don't forget to sign-up. Dennis announced that the board meeting was short, because he did not attend. Jean announced that the scholarship luncheon went well, but was disappointed that only a small amount of Rotarians attended. Bob Mertz announced that next weeks speaker will be Mary Ann O'Neil. On June 11th, Dennis announced that he had no announcements.

Object of Rotary - or Be Reminded: the first regular (Thursday) meeting of every month is "Food or $5" as members will have the choice of bringing a food item to help supply for the Food Pantry or pay a $5 fine of to support First Things First. When a speaker is not scheduled on the first Thursday of each month, the time will be spent in quality fellowship and member to member interaction.

Weekly Raffle, On May 28th, Deanna picked the Ace of Hearts. On June 11th, Art picked the 10 of hearts. On June 18th, Bob W. picked the 9 of spades.
